A sampling of some of the screens from PDA Cruiser for Palm OS

This is the top level screen in Cruiser. It lists the name and number of trees for each job that has been created in Cruiser.

You single tap a job to see its board footage at the bottom of the screen. The board footage is displayed in the scale selected for the job.

You double tap a job to bring up the Job Screen that shows the job's tree list.

This screen is used for entering an individual tree's parameters, including species, diameters (DBH), number of 16' logs (#16' Logs), disposition, category, coordinates, and comments.

Tree species, DBH, # of 16' logs, disposition, and category are mandatory and must be selected using pulldown menus. After DBH and # of 16' logs are selected, the board footage of the tree is calculated and displayed in the scale selected for the job.

Tree comments, such as “large canopy, beneficial to remove”, are optional and can be entered using the keyboard.

Tree coordinates, which include latitude, longitude, and altitude, are optional. They can be entered using the keyboard.

Cruiser displays a summary of each job. The summary displays the total number of logs and board footage for each species selected for the trees in the job, and the total number of logs and board footage for the entire job.

New tree species can be added to Cruiser. This species will be subsequently selectable for all trees in Cruiser.
